Turn product notes into a WooCommerce listing
For merchants with a supplier sheet and no time to write. Claude turns the facts you provide into a coherent product draft — name, descriptions and supported product data — and you decide when it goes live.

- Result: a draft product for your review
Example workflow. A realistic walkthrough of what Meikero supports, not a customer story or a tested result.
The situation
A new product arrives with a supplier sheet: material, size, care instructions, a wholesale code and a list of selling points written for retailers, not shoppers. You know the price you want to charge and how many you have. Turning all of that into a tidy WooCommerce product usually means an hour of copying fields and rewriting text.
What you’ll make
A simple WooCommerce product saved as a draft, with a clear name, a short description, a full description written for shoppers, and the supported product data you supplied — price, SKU, stock, category and an existing image — ready for you to check before publishing.
What you need
- WooCommerce active and Claude connected to your site.
- Meikero Pro and the WooCommerce permission set to allow changes. Reading the store and drafting copy work on Free. See Free and Pro.
- Your notes, your price and stock figures, and — if you want an image — a photo already uploaded to the media library. Meikero does not upload files.
How it works
Read the store first
Claude checks your currency, existing categories and a similar product so the new listing fits the catalogue.
Map the facts to supported fields
Claude shows which of your facts go into name, descriptions, price, SKU, stock, category and image — and which have no field, such as attributes or variations.
Draft the copy
A short and full description written only from your notes, with any missing information listed as questions.
Create the draft
After your approval, the product is created as a draft. Publishing is a separate step you take after review.
Copy this prompt
Create a WooCommerce product draft from my notes using the available Meikero tools.
1. Read the store currency, the product categories and one similar existing product so you match the catalogue. Do not change anything.
2. Map my notes to the fields the product tools support: name, short description, description, regular price, SKU, stock, category and an existing media image. List any facts that have no supported field.
3. Draft the name and both descriptions using only my notes. Do not invent specifications, certifications, compatibility, images, stock or prices; list what is missing as questions.
4. Show me the complete proposed product and wait for my approval.
5. After I approve, create it as a simple product with status draft. Do not publish it or change any other product.
6. Read the new product back and confirm every field matches what I approved.
My notes: ...
Price: ... Stock: ... SKU: ...
Supported fields at a glance
| Product data | Can Claude set it? |
|---|---|
| Name, short and full description | Yes |
| Regular and sale price, SKU, stock status and quantity | Yes, from your figures |
| Categories, tags, product image from the media library | Yes |
| Attributes, gallery, variations | No — add these in WooCommerce |
WooCommerce’s guide to adding and managing products explains the product types. Meikero creates simple products; variable products, where each variation can carry its own price, SKU and stock, still need WooCommerce’s own editor for their variations.
Review before publishing
- Price, stock and SKU are exactly the figures you supplied.
- Every claim in the descriptions comes from your notes or the supplier sheet.
- The category is right and the image shows this product.
- The draft looks right on the product page preview, on mobile too.
Limits and recovery
Meikero works with the product catalogue only: no orders, customers, payments or coupons. Updates to an existing product require its current edit hash and keep a data backup that can be restored. Keep your normal backups as well.
FAQ
Can Claude publish the product?
It can, but only when you ask after reviewing the draft. This workflow stops at a draft on purpose.
What about products with sizes or colours?
Claude can draft the shared copy, but variations are not created through Meikero. Create the variable product’s variations in WooCommerce.
Can I improve existing products the same way?
Yes — see the tutorial on editing WooCommerce product descriptions with Claude, which updates only the description fields of a product you already sell.
