Each group is a separate permission in WordPress. Enable the ones you need, starting with read-only.
Site understanding
Claude reads versions, active theme and plugins, settings, Site Health, pending updates and scheduled tasks before it suggests anything. Tools
Custom theme and plugin development
Build your own theme templates or a small plugin inside folders you approve. Existing files are edited only against their latest version, every write is backed up, and PHP is syntax-checked. Tools
Content, commerce and layouts
Draft and update pages and posts, categories, tags and media details. With WooCommerce: products, prices, sale prices, stock and descriptions. With WPBakery: edit layouts element by element; ACF and Elementor structures are readable. Tools
SEO
With Yoast SEO or Rank Math, read and update SEO titles, meta descriptions, focus keyphrases and canonical URLs for each page. Tools
Audits
Claude collects permitted evidence and saves an audit report to your Meikero dashboard without changing the site. Findings are AI assessments — review them. Tools
History and recovery
Group edits into work sessions, checkpoint an approved folder before bigger work, and restore files or content from backups. Tools
What it does not cover. No access to WooCommerce customers, orders or revenue data; no coupon or scheduled-sale tools; navigation menus are read-only; ACF and Elementor are read-only. The Oxygen Builder bridge is a Preview without Meikero rollback snapshots. Other plugins are not specifically integrated.

Safeguards
What protects your site — and what it does not replace.
Admin-selected permissions
The administrator chooses which data areas Claude may read or change and which folders it may access — with separate switches for creating and editing files. A license never grants permissions by itself.
Edits against the latest version
Edits to existing files, posts, products, layouts and media require their current hash, so changes based on an outdated read are rejected.
Automatic backups
File writes and content, product, SEO, media, term and WPBakery layout updates keep backups that can be restored. Project checkpoints are separate and made on request.
Protected Meikero code
Meikero’s own plugin code, licensing secrets, credentials and common secret files cannot be read or edited through the connector. Each AI client gets its own revocable key.
Not a site backup or a guarantee. Checkpoints hold supported text files only — not the database or media. PHP syntax checks catch parse errors, not runtime problems, and audit findings are AI assessments. Keep normal backups and review changes.
